Please leave a suitable comment, if your userinfo does not state your age. Likewise, if I don't know you from other journals, comment here to let me know why you want to read my journal entries. If I don't friend you back, the reason can probably be found in my userinfo. Or I simply didn't get around to it yet; I'm very unorganized. If you ask me to friend you but don't friend me yourself, I'll ignore your request. Because it's only fair that if I share my personal posts with you, you should share yours with me too, no?

Thank you very kindly for offering to write in at least one of the fandoms I've requested. I compliment you on your good taste. ;) I don't want to stifle your creativity in any way. If the very sight of my fic requests made your muses vibrate with excitement and fantastic ideas, then don't let me delay you with needless babble. However, if you're all about finetuning gifts and would like to know more about my fads and fancies, here are a few things which apply to me, no matter the fandom: * Stories combining smut and romance - I'm flexible about the ratio - make me very happy. * If I had to pick between smut and an emotional connection between characters, however, I will always go for the emotion. The more intense, the better. * I love humour, but I'm just as partial to angst (ideally with some sort of happy ending). * Kink is good. Lack thereof is not necessarily bad. * Kissing, flirting, slow seductions and dancing are even better. * I have a fondness for cosy or unusual settings, and Alternative Universes - so if you should get it into your head to transplant the characters you're writing for me to a WWII submarine, an isolated lighthouse, or any of the many and peculiar times and places suggested by my list of interests, I'd be the last person to stop you. * I'd really rather not have a Christmas story. I don't celebrate it, and stories that are all green and red and loaded with sugar and turkeys make me kind of queasy. * Het is something I can only stomach in very rare cases. Gen in fanfiction tends to bore me. So, if you never write slash, and got landed with one of my slash requests, I'd be greatly appreciative if you could manage some serious male bonding at least, so I can pretend. Please? ;) * And while I'm begging - please, please, no rape, non-con or violence. I'm a romantic, and a marshmallow to boot. I've seen it suggested elsewhere that a repeat of the actual wishlist details within this letter is often appreciated, so here's that, too. Nothing new added here; as my Yuletide writer, you've already seen this. ( Specifics. )Well, I'm sure that's more than enough info. All that's left for me to do is to hope you'll have fun writing whatever you're writing. And may you receive something delightful for your efforts as well! :)

Hail to the Chief! :D
Had I known in advance I was going to have a terrible sleep yet again, I would have stayed up and watched all this marvellousness live, rather than in replays. Well, at least I'm watching now, and it's still enough to make me teary-eyed. *twirls flist*

This post needs to be uncharacteristically public for promotional purposes. :) You know you've been given one hell of a Yuletide gift when you have to restrain yourself from commenting like some hyper teenager stuck on capslock. I'm well aware there's a chance my writer is reading this, so that cat's out of the bag anyway. If you are - at least I tried to keep it sensible in a public place, you have to give me that. ;) Everyone, go read my gift, swoon with me, and comment on it: LevelingPhilip Marlowe/Red Norgaard slash of the most romantic, atmospheric, canon and downright sweet kind! Don't you love it when a Yuletide writer goes all out to spin your dials? Because I really, really do. - Tags:yuletide

I have to admit, I'm impressed with McCain's concession speech. He is, if nothing else, a gracious loser. If I didn't know better, I'd assume he voted for Obama himself. LOL - Mood:ecstatic

In my quest to find the most up to date website - hard to tell at this point, obviously - I decided to keep these pages open: This looks great! No reloading needed; live updates. Countdown until results start to come in. And you can see the whole US or highlight by state at the drop of a hat. (And mouseover gives you more detailed stats yet.) http://maps.google.com/help/maps/elections/#2008_electionThis one may need reloading on a regular basis, so I guess it'll be a bit clunkier. Can't tell yet. http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/calculator/

Ladies and Gents - your Attention, please!
My entire flist, as far as even present at all at the moment, appears to be depressed, myself included. So I had a thought.
Comment to this post, with up to three fic requests (any fandom) you'd love to see and which would really cheer you up. Be as vague, or as specific, as you like. Just ask for a pairing, or give a prompt as well. And keep checking back to look at other requests. When you see one you want to fulfill, comment to it and say so, and comment again when it's done to state where to find it; don't post the actual fic as a comment.
Request anything you like, and give your more obscure fandoms a shot. You never know who else lurks on my flist, eh? :)
Pick up any request you think you can do, and don't think you need to write an epic. Even a drabble will perk the requester up, or a piece of fanart, or whatever you can do to fulfill that particular wish.
Multiple responses to the same wish are okay; that's just all the more happiness for the requester.
Let's do this without any obligations for payback, just for the sake of making someone's day a little happier. If you can't fulfill any of the requests, you're still entitled to ask for something. But if you can, then please do. - Mood:determined

I keep thinking I've made oodles of Singer videos, but despite all my half-finished ones, this is actually only the second one that's completed. Blimey. This was an unprecedented amount of fun, if an editing nightmare. But I'm rather pleased with the end result, and going by the snorts of laughter issuing from my hubby's office, so was he. :) Title: He loves me. He loves me not. He loves me, he loves me, he loves me! *squee* Fandom: The Singer not the Song (1961) Pairing: Father Keogh/Anacleto Cast: John Mills, Dirk Bogarde Song: I think I'll let this one be a surprise Warnings/Enticements: See the pairing? You know this means cassocks, leather, smouldering looks... good stuff like that. In addition, there be slapstick, romantic comedy and a health & safety warning my hubby wishes me to pass on: don't consume anything liquid or containing small parts while watching. Feel free to share the links with the slash-friendly, as always, and then send them my way for mutual squeeage.
